Phew

Well Eat -fest is over for another year - well almost!! It was great though, very relaxing. What did you eat on Christmas day? We had salmon and veg for lunch and pizza for dinner all cooked in chefs hand built wood fired cob oven.

It was so great. Grandma asked Busy what Santa bought her " A new toothbrush" was her answer - its the simple things...Chef who had spent the previous day erecting the swing set and then covering it in tarps was not impressed.
I asked some friends of ours if they could think of some kind of tradition to start for Busy that we do around Christmas- doesn't have to be on the day. They came up withe nicest idea. Every year they would plant a tree ( he is a horticulturalist) with Busy somewhere on our farm.

They even made a little post to tell us what year it was celebrating- that we are about to start. When they were planting the tree our friend made a little speech.
"We are planting this tree to give something back to the earth  for all we have taken this year"
So nice. I cannot remember the name of the tree but its going to be a lovely big shade tree one day. Isn't that just the nicest thing ever??? I think so.

  7. What a fantastic idea! My brother used to always prefer the boxes his toys came in to the actual toys when he was little x
