The News.

You know when you watch the news and you see an awful news story and you think about how horrible it is for that poor family and friends but then you kind of forget about it? Not in a heartless way just because. Last week it wasn't just an awful tragedy that made headlines around the world - it was our lovely friend who died in a horrible accident, and her lovely partner and mother are in a critical condition in hospital. Seeing it all over the news felt like it was such an invasion of our privacy ( this is not the first time I have thought this), we were experiencing this horrible news and it became a story. It has all turned into a continuing nightmare. This is all happening on the other side of the world  on a surprise holiday and it is all just awful. It still doesn't seem real as it is all such a horrible shock like it cannot be really happening. I am watching those around me crumble and it is breaking my heart...I was wondering if I should blog about it and am doing so only for explaining my absence and possibly delays in replying to emails  rather than having to explain it each time. I may be gone for a little while, I feel like I cannot think of anything nice to blog about. See you on the other side of this horrible time. xx

  4. I remember feeling the same way a few years ago when a young friend of my daughters was killed in a car accident along with his father. It was an horrific day on Tassie roads and he was the last of about 8 people to die that day - and it is still brought up by the media.

Take your time to work through it Cath and I look forward to seeing you back here when the time is right. I'm sure it's more difficult to work through the sadness when it occurs so far away - and with others in the family also fighting for their lives, makes it doubly hard.

  15. Hi Cath - sending you the biggest hugs...I too have been just stunned at the news. I had the privilege of working with Soni for a couple of years and spent an amazing Xmas with her and her lovely family in the UK. I just cannot comprehend that she's actually gone. The inner west of Sydney will never be the same.
