Highly Evolved people.

You probably saw the clip of Richard Martinez, father of 20 year old Christopher Martinez who was killed in a mass shooting in the US last month. I don't think you could find anyone who could watch it without feeling some of his pain and anger as he spoke with rage about "irresponsible politicians and the NRA." It is difficult to watch but I think he sums up what a lot of people feel. "When will this madness end?" (I don't want to get into a mud slinging /America bashing thing here as we are hardly in a position to tut tut when look who we have as a Prime minster at the moment.) I know there are a lot of US citizens who are not pro gun and who are equally horrified at the level of gun deaths and mass shootings in the US.

However this post is not about that. It's about this man, Richard Martinez. He asked to meet with the father Peter Rodger of the alleged killer Elliot Rodger. They embraced, the talked they planned.

He said:

"He's a father. I'm a father. He loved his son. I love my son. His son died . My son died." They plan to work together to make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is such a magnificent example of how far ahead of the general population Richard Martinez is, as a human being, as father, as a man. To be this understanding, to be able to strip things back so much that you can see this for what it is. Two dead young men- I think that is so astounding. To be able to do that, so soon after it happened too. This is an example of humanity. This is a man who should be a role model. This is who we should look to as an example of how to behave, how to live our lives.  He didn't choose to blame or hate. He chose to embrace this man, this father who is also a victim.

I don't think I could do that. I like to think that I could but if I am really honest.... I just don't know.
